Petra Hospodura works on unprimed nettle fabric, which she only stretches on a stretcher after the picture is finished. This is particularly important because she initially describes the entire surface of the picture in handwritten form with personal texts. She herself speaks of “energizing the screen”. More or less much of this initial text remains visible through the painting process that begins thereafter, but it can be felt as graphic energy under each picture.
Petra Hospodura combines drawing with painting in a reactive creative process. Her favorite subject is plants. She is primarily concerned with the presentation of plant energy. Her pictures burst with sensual power, vibrate with painterly expressiveness and pause at the climax of this whole development.
Petra Hospodura's process of creating an image can be illustrated very well with this growth energy, life and vital force: A force that is inherent in everything that is alive and from which we ultimately do not know where it comes from. Petra Hospodura's creative process ties in directly with spiritual thoughts and draws its virulent power from this, which breaks through in all of her pictures. Her portraits are also to be understood in this spiritual context: Petra Hospodura is concerned with a holistic understanding of the person with their life energy.
I'm sure these images will not go unnoticed and will inevitably be a magnet for your customers and buyers. For this reason, I am very happy to appoint Petra Hospodura as my protégé!
